This course is an introduction to Process Safety Management, explaining the need for a modern approach to the management of major hazards in the chemical, oil and gas industry sectors. Its primary objective is to provide the participants with the skills necessary for setting up and/or operating Process Safety Management systems which address major hazards.
The course equips participants with the means to succeed in safety terms as process and project engineers or to attain specialist status in process safety management
Progression
Upon successful completion of this qualification, learners may wish to continue their development via the completion of any of the following signposted qualifications/training:
Level 4/5 Occupational Health and Safety qualifications
Level 4 HAZOP and HAZID in Oil & Gas
Entry Requirement
There are no prerequisites for this qualification however it is strongly advised that learners already hold the
Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace, or equivalent.
